Brandon Schubert

Principal, Investments

Brandon spearheads the execution of Birddog’s investment strategies. Brandon brings over 20 years and more than $2.5 billion in real estate investment, capital markets, and asset management expertise. Brandon’s deep Texas relationships and extensive ‘cradle-to-grave’ transaction experience across multiple real estate cycles allow him to source attractive, off-market investment opportunities and quickly analyze their viability as potential investments. Previously, Brandon served as Head of Acquisitions at Goldenrod Companies, where from 2020-2023 he originated over a dozen value-add and development investment opportunities. Brandon graduated from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri where he played football and earned his degree in Business Administration. Brandon and his wife Katie have lived in the metroplex since 2004, raising their four boys (Ryley, Elliott, Rory, and Liam) and playing an active role in the community.

Carter Dunlap

Principal, Capital Markets

Carter is responsible for sourcing new equity relationships and project-level financing for Birddog Ventures. He has spent the last half of his 12-year real estate career in Capital Markets, most recently serving as Director of Capital Markets at Goldenrod Companies. Prior to Goldenrod, Carter was a member of CBRE Capital Markets in Dallas, where he and his colleagues originated over $4 billion in debt and equity transactions over a 4-year period. He also spent over four years in data center development with Compass Datacenters in Dallas and two years in commercial banking at Benchmark Bank. Carter graduated from Texas Christian University, majoring in Finance with Real Estate Concentration. He and his wife, Audrey, have two daughters (Adele and Collins) and one son (George).

Jon DuCharme

Principal, Development

Jon brings 24+ years of experience in all aspects of construction, ranging from field supervision to the executive level during previous tenure in general contracting, subcontracting, and owner rep. He has completed ground-up/redevelopment projects in most sectors, including healthcare, hospitality, multifamily, industrial, office, religious, and utilities. Jon will be responsible for managing the development and major capital improvement processes from concept to closeout in addition to advising on the constructibility, timing, and cost during the underwriting process. He has achieved certifications in LEED AP, CPC, and PMP. Jon has degrees in construction management (Oklahoma State) and organizational leadership (Texas A&M – Commerce). He and his wife, Amanda have four sons (Conner, Cole, Chandler, and Casen). When Jon is not working hard with the dogs, he enjoys outdoor activities and traveling with the family.

Josh Oerke

Principal, Asset Management

As Head of Asset Management for Birddog, Josh leverages his 20+ years of commercial real estate finance and asset management experience to implement and execute customized business plans for each investment. Josh will oversee all closings, manage third parties, and oversee the implementation of the capital improvement plans. Josh previously worked in an asset management role at Goldenrod companies where he oversaw a portfolio of 10 assets across the southwest valued at more than $750 million as well as Prescient, a contractor for the FDIC where he was responsible for the daily management and disposition of REO assets from failed financial institutions. As a commercial lender, Josh previously worked for JPMorgan Mortgage Capital, Countrywide Commercial Real Estate, Cantor Fitzgerald, and ACORE Capital, where he participated in the origination, underwriting, and closing of approximately $6 billion in capital markets transactions. Josh is a graduate of Austin College with a degree in Political Science where he was a 4-year letterman on the Basketball team. Josh and his wife Mandy live in Allen, TX, and have two daughters, Madison and Tatum.
